About Fari
Writer • Life Balance Guide • Creator of the 7 Treasures
Most thoughtful adults carry more than they can comfortably hold.
Responsibilities, expectations, quiet exhaustion, the feeling of moving through life just a little out of rhythm.
My work was born from living through that imbalance myself.
Aloha, I’m Fari.
I write about life balance — not as something to achieve, but as something we return to when life feels rushed, heavy, or out of proportion.
My work grew out of lived experience, reflection, and a long curiosity about why so many capable, caring people feel stretched between responsibility and exhaustion. Over time, I’ve come to see that most imbalance doesn’t come from a lack of effort or discipline, but from pace, pressure, and the quiet stories we carry about what life demands from us.
Through writing, conversation, movement, and stillness, I explore how balance naturally reappears when we re-orient — when we soften unnecessary strain, listen for rhythm, and restore proportion in how we work, relate, and live.
Two layers of this work
Earlier in my life, I wrote about the 7 Treasures — the core assets of a human life such as health, family, faith, knowledge, work, and material stability. These are the foundations we build over time and draw from when life is difficult.
This work continues that inquiry at a deeper level, through what I now call the 7 Points of Return to Balance. These are not principles to follow or goals to reach, but different ways balance returns when it’s lost — through rhythm, presence, detachment, clarity of mind, acceptance, sustainable pace, and service.
One layer is about what we build.
The other is about how we return.
They belong together, but they are not the same.
How to use this space
Nothing here is meant to be mastered or applied perfectly.
This space exists for reflection — for those who carry a lot, care deeply, and sense that life can be lived with more ease, more understanding, and quieter strength. You may arrive here through an essay, a video, or a single line that settles something you didn’t know how to name.
If something resonates, stay.
If it doesn’t, you’re free to move on.
Balance isn’t created by force.
It returns when we remember how to stand.
My Story
My Journey:
My life has taken me across continents and through many chapters — from Afghanistan to the United States as a refugee, from hardship to stability, from searching to understanding. Each chapter shaped the way I approach balance, resilience, and the human experience.
What Shaped My Work?
Years of yoga, meditation, spiritual inquiry, Ayurveda study, entrepreneurship, motherhood, and personal reflection came together to form my philosophy: The 7 Treasures. These influences taught me how pace, presence, rhythm, and perspective shape the quality of our lives.
What I Offer Now?
Today, I share reflections, teachings, movement and stillness practices, and perspective-shifting conversations rooted in the 7 Treasures. My work is not about self-improvement — it’s about orientation, helping people return to balance in a grounded, human way.

What I cherish?
Inspiring others • understanding the human mind • strategic thinking
Travel • sewing • hot tea • dark chocolate • soothing music
Nature • presence • time with my grandchildren
What moves me?
- When people beat the odds
- When someone makes the best of a difficult situation
- When someone bravely asks for help
- When I know I’ve made a difference
A Small Personal Note:
I live a quiet life on Maui with my husband, my lifelong friend and greatest supporter. My happiest moments are spent with my children and grandchildren, surrounded by nature, good tea, and gentle laughter. I’m moved by people who rise through difficulty and touched whenever I can help someone see their life more clearly.
Every chapter of my life — from refugee to entrepreneur, seeker to writer, mother to grandmother — has shaped my work and the way I see the world.
